Lemon Balm Bug Spray

Ingredients:

Handful of fresh lemon balm leaves
Pinch each of: basil, catnip and mint
Witch hazel
1 drop each of: basil essential oil, citronella essential oil, lemongrass (or lemon eucalyptus) essential oil (OMIT if in P2)

Directions:

Infuse witch hazel:

  1. Stuff full a glass jar of the lemon balm leave, basil, catnip, and mint
  2. Pour witch hazel over them, almost to the top of jar
  3. Cap the jar and set in a cool, dark cupboard for 1-2 weeks
  4. Strain and store out of heat and light
     

Mix spray:

  1. Fill a small spray bottle halfway with lemon balm infused witch hazel
  2. Fill rest of bottle with water, but not quite to top
  3. Add drops of essential oil, to boost the spray’s power (if in P4 or Beyond)
  4. Screw the spritzer top onto the bottle and shake well

Application:

  1. Shake thoroughly before each application and spritz on and around you
  2. Reapply as needed (each application will last 1-2 hours)
     

Storage:

  1. Once you’ve mixed up a batch with water, try to use it up within a few weeks
  2. Undiluted infused witch hazel will last at least six months to a year, or longer
